Words
of little notice
Sometimes when you sit down and think
all the things don’t come so straight
your mind gets jumbled and feels unclear
for the meaning you need to steer
the road of thought never comes out clean
ideas you must state become unseen
so many words all jumbled up
close your eyes and fill your cup
embrace the challenge of getting it right
no one there to judge your fight
you cling to the one that means the most
because they are there to host
the thoughts the words waiting to come
out of your mind lingering for some
you meant to impress but you get lost
but wait the battle is worth the cost
the words come singing out now
your heart opens the mind but how
how can you close your eyes and still see
the words jumbled in your head are now free
focus on the ones you love
and God will give from above
trust the words stuck in your head
write them down with pencil and lead
away they will soar
faltering you will no more

This feels exactly like the inner landscape of writing — the jumble, the quiet battle, the moment of clarity when the words finally flow. This is beautiful. Thank you for writing this!
